Laws from 'god' are from the jungle

When religious people quote that "..it's the way it's been and was given by god," this fits in exactly with what people want out of religion: purpose. Religious people are almost all looking for a purpose. I don't think it dawns on them that the very idea of purpose is meaningless. What is the 'meaning' (or purpose) of life, is an ill-defined question. What it really is saying is that this is the law we've had for a long time, which is naive an idiotic. Religious people seem to have a strange view of the past, like it's always through a 'rosy' lens. The truth is that life is better now (in first world countries that is) than it's ever been! We live longer, are bigger and have access to more information than ever.

But I am hopeful that in the future people will continue turn religion (a rigorous central system of dictated beliefs) in to spirituality (a personal interpretation of beliefs). Many modern communities are defined by this transformation since it seems to be necessary to allow scientists to prosper (which seems like a reasonable explanation why no religious society has had significant scientific advancements). As with all things the marvels of science and the instinct to survive and save your children will overpower (mostly) your religious doctrine. If not they will die. A good example is the religious people not believing in immunization (even during an outbreak of Rubella),. So I'll guess they'll be selected out, too bad they don't believe in that.
