Funny Religion an anal god
It really is amusing to think that most people's god is suppose to be merciful and compassionate but also incredibly anal. Apparently god will damn you to an eternity of Hell if you use a condom once (most religions), eat a cheese burger (Jews) and (before the second Vatican council) have a burger on Friday (Roman Catholic). You have to wonder if someone was in hell because of eating meat on Friday would he be bumped up to heaven after the 2nd Vatican council?
It's almost as ridiculous as the Muslim belief that if your a martyr you will get 70 virgins in heaven! So allah is apparently pimping, either creating virgins or forcing heaven dwellers to slavery. Imagine the poor women martyrs with either 70 female virgins to be catty with or 70 male who have no idea what they are doing ;-)

just to catch up on pop-culture, i am reading the bible code. its a great read -- really engaging murder fiction. but, what is all this controversy about?
i lookup online to find out that, indeed, many of the facts in the book are true! even does to Opus Dei, the religion with a Madison avenue building.
a great quote in the book is: the bible didnt arrive by fax from heaven. it is a man-made creation. repleat with mind-controlling subversion of the enemies of the church at the time.
Similar to the way Bush's policies all seep through with some subtle central vision of casting any actions against america as bad and terrorist, even moderates like Cat Stevens.
One of these 'enemies' is women. Men are the leader in christianity. women can't be priests, popes, enjoy sex, were born in sin, and are substandard humans made from the rib of a real human. Of course many other religions picked up these memes as history weaved and seperated them.
So, in essense, one of the founding priciples of 'religion' is chauvenism, whereas the founding principle of paganism could be reverse-chauvinism.
